Short answer: the best Instantly alternatives are Smartlead for the same unlimited-mailbox model, Lemlist for multichannel outreach, Apollo for data plus sequences, Woodpecker for plain email and LinkedIn campaigns, and Rodok if you want to start from buying signals and keep sequences and a CRM in one place. Choose by what limits you: sending volume, who to write to, or when to write.
This article is about Instantly the cold email platform at instantly.ai.
Why teams look for an Instantly alternative
Instantly describes itself as cold email software with unlimited email accounts and AI-powered lead generation (instantly.ai). It is a sending machine, and a good one if you run many mailboxes. People still go looking for something else for three reasons.
- The pricing is split into pieces. Its pricing page sells Outreach plans (sending), Credits plans (the lead database and AI tools) and Bundles that combine them, each with its own tiers. When we checked on November 1, 2026, the page also listed a few plans at more than one price in different sections, so work out your real total from the live page before you decide.
- Sending and targeting are separate problems. Unlimited mailboxes help you send more. They don't tell you which 40 people are worth writing to this week.
- The CRM is light. Instantly's CRM page describes a master inbox for emails, calls, SMS and tasks, with no per-seat fees for team members. It doesn't go into deal pipelines or reporting, so teams that outgrow it usually add a separate CRM.
Sending, targeting or timing: know which problem you have
Most "Instantly alternatives" lists compare tools that solve different problems.
- Sending: mailboxes, warmup, rotation, inbox placement. Instantly, Smartlead and Woodpecker compete here.
- Targeting: finding the right people and their emails. Apollo, Lemlist and Instantly's own lead database.
- Timing: a reason to write now, such as a new hire, a promotion or a post about your problem. See buying signals.
If your emails land in the inbox and nobody replies, more mailboxes won't fix it. Timing and relevance usually will.

Smartlead
Smartlead is the closest like-for-like switch. Its site says you can add unlimited mailboxes and handles warm-ups and sender rotation automatically, with replies from all campaigns in one shared inbox (smartlead.ai). Plans are Base ($39/month, 6,000 emails a month, 2,000 contacts), Pro ($94/month, 90,000 emails, 30,000 contacts), then two Unlimited tiers. Annual billing is $32 and $78 a month for the first two (pricing). Its FAQ says all plans come with a free trial and no card is required.
Best for: agencies and teams that send a lot and want a direct Instantly replacement. Watch out for: the page we read had an inconsistent Base price in one grid, so confirm the number at checkout.
Lemlist
Lemlist sits between a sender and a prospecting suite: a 650M+ lead database, email and phone finder, AI agents, warm-up and a deliverability hub on the Email plan ($69/month, $55 billed annually). Multichannel ($109/month, $87 billed annually) adds LinkedIn automation, SMS and a built-in dialer (pricing). Buying intent signals are an add-on at $29/month for 100 signals. The FAQ describes a 14-day free trial.
Best for: teams that want data and several channels in the sender. Watch out for: LinkedIn automation acts on your own account, so read LinkedIn's terms first. A longer comparison is in Rodok vs Lemlist and Lemlist alternatives.
Apollo
Apollo combines a contact database with sequences and a dialer, and it has a free plan. The pricing page we checked lists Free, Basic, Professional and Custom plans without amounts, and says credits are pooled across the team and don't roll over (pricing). More in Apollo alternatives.
Best for: teams that want to find contacts and email them in one tool. Watch out for: read the credit rules before you plan monthly volume.
Woodpecker
Woodpecker offers Email, Multichannel (email plus LinkedIn) and LinkedIn plans, with monthly sending tiers from 5,000 up to 1,000,000 emails. The Email and Multichannel plans include unlimited team members and email accounts, and the trial runs 14 days or 500 cold emails, whichever you reach first (pricing). The prices didn't appear in the page text we could read, so check the live page.
Best for: teams that want a plain campaign tool without a big database. Watch out for: you'll bring your own lead list.
Rodok
Rodok is a CRM plus signals, a lead database and sequences. The CRM (Starter, $29/month for 3 seats) holds companies, people, deals and tasks with Gmail and Outlook on every record. Pro ($79/month for 3 seats) adds the rest: you describe a signal in a sentence ("new heads of marketing at SaaS companies in Canada"), and trackers find the matching LinkedIn posts, job changes and watchlist moves on a schedule. Each is marked hot or warm with a note on why. The lead database finds people by title, seniority, company size, industry and market and usually returns a work email. Sequences send email steps from your own Gmail or Outlook, with A/B versions and a review queue, and LinkedIn steps become tasks for the rep. Replies are sorted by AI.
Best for: small B2B teams whose problem is who and when. Watch out for: Rodok has no mailbox rotation network or warmup service, so if you send from dozens of domains, Instantly or Smartlead fit that job better. Rodok sends from your own inbox.
How to choose
1. Count your real sending volume
Many small teams send a few hundred emails a week. Check the monthly email limit on the plan, not the headline feature. A 5,000-email plan is plenty for most teams that write to a short, relevant list.
2. Decide where the list comes from
If you buy or export lists, any sender will do. If you want the list to come from a trigger, such as a new VP or a hiring push, start from a signal tool. Our signal-based selling guide shows the routine.
3. Price the whole stack
Add the sender, the data credits, the CRM and any signals add-on. A cheap sender with three add-ons can cost more than one plan that includes them. Our best cold email software guide compares more tools by team size.
4. Protect your domain
Cold email carries risk for your sending domain. Use a separate domain for outreach, keep volumes modest at first, write short messages to people with a real reason to hear from you, and include an easy way to opt out. The sales sequences guide covers how to pace follow-ups.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best alternative to Instantly?
For the same unlimited-mailbox model, Smartlead. For data and several channels, Lemlist. For a free tier with data and sequences, Apollo. For signals, sequences and a CRM in one place, Rodok.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Instantly?
Smartlead's Base plan is $39 a month ($32 billed annually) against $47 ($37.60 annually) for Instantly's Growth Outreach plan, and Apollo has a free plan. The plans cover different volumes and data, so compare what's included, not only the headline price.
Does Instantly include a CRM?
Instantly describes its CRM as a master inbox for emails, calls, SMS and tasks, and its page doesn't detail pipelines or reporting. Teams that want deals, forecasting and reports usually add a separate CRM or use a tool with one built in, such as Rodok.
