Pricing

3 seats, $9 per extra seat. The CRM: pipeline, contacts, Gmail and Outlook, calendar, booking links and reports.
Start with Starter3 seats, $19 per extra seat. Everything in Starter plus LinkedIn signals, the lead database, sequences and AI agents to find new clients.
Start with ProA CRM for consultants tracks the companies and people who might hire you, from first conversation to a signed statement of work, and keeps your past clients visible for the next engagement. It is not project software and it does not send invoices. What it fixes is the gap between projects, when no one is following up because everyone is busy delivering.
How selling works for a consultant
A consultant sells expertise, so trust decides most deals. The buyer is usually a senior person with a problem and a budget: a founder, a department head or a VP. Work comes from referrals, past clients who come back, speaking, writing, partnerships with other firms and direct outreach.
The cycle is short for a small advisory project and longer for a large engagement that needs a procurement review. Because each client is large relative to your total revenue, a single lost follow-up costs real money.
Stages that fit most consulting practices:
| Stage | What it means | Next step to log |
|---|---|---|
| Lead | Someone asked or was introduced | Reply and propose an intro call |
| Intro call | You talked about the problem | Offer a scoping session |
| Scoping | You are defining the work | Send the written scope |
| Proposal | Fee and terms are out | Follow up in 3 to 5 days |
| Statement of work signed | The engagement is agreed | Set a kickoff and a check-in date |
Add a task for the day the engagement ends: "Ask how it went and what comes next." Many consulting deals are repeat work.
What to look for in a CRM
- Past clients stay in the list. A finished engagement should turn into a re-engage task, not a record nobody opens.
- A referral source on each contact. Know which former client or partner introduced the lead, and send them a note when the deal closes.
- Notes you can search. What a founder said about the board's priorities in January matters in June.
- Email and calendar on the record. Scoping calls are booked by email. A booking link also saves several rounds of messages.
- Light reporting. You need win rate, average deal size and time from first call to signature to price your proposals. See the win rate calculator and sales velocity.
Signals worth watching
Public events that often come before a company hires outside help. Each tracker is a sentence you type into Rodok Pro. Rodok sees LinkedIn posts, job changes, hiring and company news.
- A new leader starts in the function you advise. Tracker: "VPs and heads of (your function) who started a new role in the last 90 days at companies with 50 to 1,000 employees". New leaders often bring in outside help early. See new executive.
- A company reorganizes. Tracker: "companies announcing a reorganization or leadership change in (your industry)". See leadership change.
- A funding round or a new market. Tracker: "companies announcing a funding round or a launch into (your market)". See funding round.
- A post describing your problem. Tracker: "posts from (your buyer title) about struggling with (the problem you solve)". See pain point posts.
- A company hires for the role that would do your job. Tracker: "companies hiring a (role related to your work) in (your region)". A company that cannot hire fast may borrow a consultant. See hiring for your job.
A first message example
An example, with made-up names:
Subject: Your new role at Larkspur Hi Hana, congratulations on joining Larkspur Foods as head of supply chain. I advise food manufacturers on planning cycles and have worked with teams in the first six months of a role like yours. If useful, I can send a one-page note on the three questions I would ask in a first review. No call needed.
See new role outreach.
Where Rodok fits and where it does not
Rodok Starter is a sales CRM: companies, people, deals, tasks, notes, files, Gmail and Outlook sync on every record, calendar sync, booking links, reports and forecasting, and team chat. Pro adds LinkedIn signals, a lead database, sequences with email steps and LinkedIn steps as tasks, a replies inbox and AI. Pro costs $79 a month for 3 seats, and Starter $29.
It does not track time, create invoices, write proposals or contracts, or run project plans. If you deliver as a team of several people, Rodok's roles and shared records help. If you are alone, the benefit is the habit of never leaving a lead without a next step.
Frequently asked questions
Does a solo consultant need a CRM?
If you have more than a handful of leads and past clients, yes. A solo practice often has fewer deals but longer gaps, which makes it easy to forget someone who said "come back in the spring."
How do I track retainers and repeat work?
Create one deal for the first engagement and another for each renewal or follow-on, linked to the same company. That way you can see how much work came from existing clients compared with new ones.
What should I write in the next step field?
Write what you will do and when, such as "send scope draft on Thursday." A next step that names an action and a date is a promise to yourself that a reminder can enforce.
