People showing a buying signal, found for sellers to executives. Example data.

Describe the executives you want to reach, and Rodok builds a list you can refresh and flags the ones who just arrived. Built around how sellers to executives actually sell, so you start from your own stages instead of a blank page.

The whole CRM, not just the pipeline. Contacts, companies, tasks, email, automations, chat and the lead finder, in one app.

01Find

People from one sentence

A c level executives email list is a set of contacts who hold the chief titles at companies: CEO, CFO, COO, CTO, CMO and the rest. Rodok builds the list from filters you can rerun. You can buy a static file or build a list you can refresh, and for executives the refreshable one matters most, because this group changes seats, titles and companies often. This guide also covers a C-suite email list and a list of C-level contacts.

How executives are reached, and why it is different

At a 20-person company the CEO reads the inbox. At a 5,000-person company an executive assistant or a chief of staff often filters it. That changes the plan:

  • Small and mid-size companies: write to the executive. A short, specific note from a peer works.
  • Large companies: aim one level down first. A director in the right function can bring you to the executive, and executives tend to trust names they already know.
  • One executive per company per campaign. Sending to the CEO, CFO and COO of the same firm on the same day looks like a blast, and they talk to each other.

For single titles, see the CEO email list, CFO email list, COO email list and CTO email list.

How to build a C-level executives email list

  1. Choose the chief title that owns your problem. A finance product goes to the CFO, not to every chief.
  2. Set company size and market. Founders and chiefs at 20 to 200 employees tend to be easier to reach than those at a global group.
  3. Search LinkedIn by hand to test the definition, and read the first 20 profiles.
  4. Build the list in Rodok Pro. The Leads page takes a sentence and sets filters on title, seniority, company size, industry and market. It usually returns a work email. Where there is none, use a LinkedIn note you send yourself.
  5. Verify the address and save the source in your CRM.
  6. Refresh it monthly. Executives move, so a stale file sends to people who left.

The rules

CAN-SPAM has no business-to-business exception, as the FTC states in its compliance guide. Use true sender details, a matching subject, a postal address and an opt-out you honor within 10 business days. GDPR and CASL apply to their regions. This is not legal advice.

Signals that an executive is about to buy

Trackers you can type into Rodok Pro (LinkedIn posts, job changes, hiring and company news):

  • A new executive. Tracker: "CEOs, CFOs and COOs who started a new role in the last 90 days at companies with 50 to 500 employees". See new executive and new role outreach.
  • A leadership change around them. Tracker: "companies announcing a new CEO or a leadership team change in (market)". See leadership change.
  • A funding round. Tracker: "founders and CEOs announcing a funding round in (market)". See funding round.
  • A restructure. Tracker: "companies announcing layoffs or a reorganization in (market)". See layoffs or restructure.
  • A new office or market. Tracker: "companies announcing a new office or expansion into (region)". See new office or market.

A first message to an executive

An example, with made-up names:

Subject: Northgate's move into Texas Hi Elena, I saw Northgate is opening a Dallas office this quarter. Expansions like that usually raise one question: how do the new team and the home team see the same customers? I have a one-page answer from two companies that did it. Want me to send it?

Executives respond to short messages that show you read something about them. Keep it under 80 words.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I get a C-level executives email list?

You can buy one, but executives move often and bought files age quickly. Building from LinkedIn and a lead database lets you refresh the list and see who changed seats this month.

How do I get past an executive assistant?

Write something clearly useful to the executive and short enough to forward. Where an assistant screens the inbox, a warm introduction or a message to a colleague one level down usually works better than a longer note.

Is it okay to email several chiefs at the same company?

Use one executive per campaign. If the first does not reply after your sequence, you can try a second chief later with a different angle.
